Can't play ringtone in iOS 11

Hi Troy, thanks for the hints. Unfortunately none of my custome ring tones show up this way either. 😟

Thanks for info Troy. Apple keeps breaking things that work and should not change. Focus on iPhone X is not my concern. Apple is driving me towards Android.

Threats to switch to another platform means nothing to us users here. And we all know Droid's have never experienced any issues, right?!! LOL

I have the same issue and was told to wait for an update as well. I'm super annoyed as its nearly December with no fixing sight. Wondering if a different brand of device is in my future.

This sounds like the most credible idea I’ve seen!! I’m gonna try it today. Whatever made you pick 25 seconds?

25 seconds was under the 40 second limit that I’ve seen mentioned in other posts and it fit where I wanted the musical phrase to begin and end.

I think you found the solution! The ringtones I have that work (and aren’t excluded when you look at the available text tones) are all under 40 seconds in length. Nice work!

I think the length of the ringtone is part of the equation however I think the change of the extension described in the repair is key.

I also have a ringtone that I had used for years, m4r extension, 14 seconds long. It has never worked since I 'upgraded' to iPhone 8.

Not helpfu, did NOT resolve. Hate the default opening ringer FaceTime ringer now stuck with.
