Text messages are not in order and I am not getting notified of new text messages

Happened on my wife’s 7, I turned off Settings > General > Time > Automatically off, restarted phone, turned it back on and it’s fixed. On my son’s 6s Plus I did the latest iOS update and that fixed it for him.

Restarting my phone worked for me.

(note: after I had unsuccessfully tried the 'automatically set time' tricks mentioned in this thread; just in case the combo is important)

This worked for me. Thank you! It was my region that was not set correctly. I had it set for the U.S. instead of Canada. I was fixated on the time as others had stated that was the problem and it needed to be set to automatic, which mine was. I finally checked my region...and ta da =fixed!! Thanks again! Hope this helps others. Check time AND region. 😉

Hi! I had a very similar problem and I managed to fix it by setting my date on automatic, And then deleting everyone off my phone as a whole and then texting them using their number after. For me it only was happening for a few people so I only had to delete two people off and add them again so it wasn’t too much of a hassle

I’ve been having this issue too and my clock has always been set to automatic. I unchecked it and rechecked it and then restarted my phone and so far it has worked and seems to be fixed!

My date & time was already set to automatic. I turned it off then back on. We’ll see if that fixes it.

I encountered this problem after updating to iOS 11.2 on an iPhone 6. Only with iMessage. What seems to have worked thus far: turn off iMessage. Turn on airplane mode. Power off. Wait a few minutes. Power back on. Turn airplane mode off. Send a few messages as plain text messages. Verify those are working correctly. Turn iMessage back on. Again, send messages to see if it is working properly again. So far so good for me.

Mine are BOTH right and i reset it from automatic toff then back on. Then turned my phone ooff and back on. Still not fixed.....

I have a 6s I updated to the newest version ios. Now, over s werk later,ALL my texts are reversed, regardless of to whom, & my imessage colors have changed-overnight.
