Interesting. For me, I have to turn off location services depending on where I'm working...Maybe it's just a different perspective of the majority of consumers that I wasn't aware of.

Encryption is better than open bits, but don't kid yourself about encryption being a good reason to auto-connect to anything. Encryption is a deterrent, not an end-game solution.

You did get answers you just ignored them. Who are these people going around auto-connecting to networks that they have not trusted? I need do that and don't know anyone else who does so.

You did get answers. You are probably a nice person. But you don't really understand what you're alluding too about security.

Go and trust that public wifi. Without a VPN, iPhone data is not secure over wifi, cellular is more secure. That is common knowledge.
