Just wanted to inform you that WiFi in new iOS 11 keeps turning on
iPhone 6s, iOS 11
If you're tapping the buttons in control center, it's a change whereby tapping the icons drops the current connection but does not shut WiFi (or Bluetooth) off; to do that you have to use the slide toggles in Settings.
This is quite handy as you can disconnect from a current troublesome WiFi network without having to remember to reenable it later.

I have to admit that I'm still in shock. The complaint is that the iPhone operates exactly as described in the iPhone User Guide! Amazing.

Your intentions don't matter; what the button is documented to do does.
Not to forget that the cellular radio in our phones put out way more energy than the Wifi or Bluetooth radios do. If this person is worried, he should turn the cellular radio off as well.
And the electric blanket. And the WiFi router.
I sleep with my phone next to my head. It s not normal to have non stop wi fi radio going trough my brain.
