Every time I update iTunes I seem to experience the same groan as the tab for ringtones disappears from the options. Is this the same problem again, or have apple decided to do away with the option to make our own ringtones in GarageBand and upload them to iTunes for downloading to my iPhone, (not exactly seamless, but hey ho!) has anyone got any ideas
You can still use iTunes to manually upload ringtones that you have made yourself. See the following instructions from the second link that I provided in my previous reply:
If you have a ringtone or tone in iTunes on your Mac or PC that you want to move to your iOS device, you can manually add it to your device using iTunes.
- Connect your device to your computer.
- Open iTunes. Make sure that you have the latest version.
- On your computer, find the ringtone or tone that you want to add to your device. If the ringtone or tone previously appeared in your iTunes library, you can find it in the Tones folder of your iTunes media folder.
- Drag the item from your computer to your iOS device in the left sidebar of iTunes.

Although there were changes, this is only helpful if you have purchased the ringtones in the first place, the great thing about the garage band connection is that I was able to make ringtones from my own music library and upload them to my phone, this is the issue that I am wanting to have reinstated.
Have apple removed the ringtone option from iTunes again!
