Lost Visual Voicemail Messages after iOS 11 update

Looked online for a fix, and walked over to my Apple Store, but no fix yet. After the update, when I go to my Visual Voicemails list, I only have one, from about a week ago. Voicemails I received before and after that one are gone, some listened to, some not.

Tried doing a Reset of Network Settings but did nothing.

Apple Store suggested I try resetting my password by calling 611.

ATT suggested calling my own number from my iPhone and checking to see if my voicemails were on there, but it only played the one that currently shows up on my iPhone.

ATT is telling me that any voicemail older than 2 weeks is no longer on their servers and is stored only on the iPhone, so the only way to restore those is through a restore from backup.

As a long time iPhone user, it seems I recall this being an issue in other system software updates, but can't remember what the fix was then.

Anyone else with the same problem and a fix?

I had the same issue and I resolved it by simply resetting my voicemail password via the ATT website.

1. Login to att.com

2. In the search bar at the top type "reset voicemail password"

3. Select "reset wireless voice mail password"

4. Follow the instructions

Before I even received my new password from ATT via text my Visual Voicemail appeared again on my iphone

I resolved this issue by changing my voicemail password. I did this by calling my own number from my phone, and then following the following prompts:

- "Please enter password"

- "Personal options, press 4"

- "Administrative options, press 2"

- "Password, press 1"

- "Enter new password now, then press #"

There is a message below that explains this fix with ATT tho my fix was more complicated. I could not retrieve my voicemail with WiFi on. I turned off wifi in two spots then called 611 and was able to get the prompts to set up the voicemail again and change the password. Even in ATT offices they didn't have this information. After an hour I was asked about WiFi through tech support. Both of the last two updates with IOS 11 and one before had this happen and it looks like they haven't worked it out. In the old days they worked out these things prior to updating but now we are all winging it while they fix things. Very problematic!

I’m on iOS 11.2 beta developer version.

1- Reset networks settings: didn’t work

2- Reser voicemail password: didn’t work

3- turn on, them off airplane mode... All MY VISUAL VOICEMAIL CONTENT IS BACK!!! Thanks 🙏-1F3FB;

Hey i have same problem after updating to 11.2 beta 5. I did a full reset and downgraded back to 11.1.2 and it ws fine, but when i went back to 11.2 it disappeared again. Unfortunately the only solution is to wait for another update or downgrade to 11.1.2. For me the whole visual voicemail is gone, it just says call voicemail.

I tried that. The new voicemail came in and shows up, but not my old ones.

I also noticed that the transcriptions are no longer offered

I did mine few times before it returned all of them

Removed all voice mail from Verizon, removed all messaged on iPhone. Then did a hard reset. Visual voicemail and transcripts now work fine.

I was able to get my voicemail messages to show back up but now the transcription is no longer on any of them including one just let today. How can I get transcription back? Really helpful feature.

Just tried this and it worked - restored my visual and all old vm’s.

I was having the exact same issue. I powered off, waited a few secs and powered on again and I've got everything back on my VM 🙂 Hope this helps!
