Lost Visual Voicemail Messages after iOS 11 update

Looked online for a fix, and walked over to my Apple Store, but no fix yet. After the update, when I go to my Visual Voicemails list, I only have one, from about a week ago. Voicemails I received before and after that one are gone, some listened to, some not.

Tried doing a Reset of Network Settings but did nothing.

Apple Store suggested I try resetting my password by calling 611.

ATT suggested calling my own number from my iPhone and checking to see if my voicemails were on there, but it only played the one that currently shows up on my iPhone.

ATT is telling me that any voicemail older than 2 weeks is no longer on their servers and is stored only on the iPhone, so the only way to restore those is through a restore from backup.

As a long time iPhone user, it seems I recall this being an issue in other system software updates, but can't remember what the fix was then.

Anyone else with the same problem and a fix?

Thanks!

I had the same issue and I resolved it by simply resetting my voicemail password via the ATT website.

1. Login to att.com

2. In the search bar at the top type "reset voicemail password"

3. Select "reset wireless voice mail password"

4. Follow the instructions

Before I even received my new password from ATT via text my Visual Voicemail appeared again on my iphone

I had the same issue.

This morning, I left myself a message. Visual voicemail still did not show anything, but the message count indicator on the voicemail icon incremented.

I dialed my voicemail from the link in the visual voicemail screen, listened to and deleted them.

After doing this, all of my old voicemails showed up and now things are working properly.

Hopefully this will help.

I had the same problem and tried every possible fix I could find online but sadly, none of them worked. I finally gave up and called US Cellular. The Tech Specialist I talked to said that none of the online solutions will work for US Cellular customers because there is something on US Cellular's end that has to be updated within the account settings. The call wasn't as painfully long as expected and my visual voicemail is up and running again with all old messages restored. Hopefully my post will save the next US Cellular customer that comes along a little time in restoring vm. 😎

Verizon customer over here. Just updated to the new iOS and had the same issue, all VM gone, just a button to click to access vm via a password. Turned the phone off. Waited a few seconds. Turned it back on. Everything is now back.

Just a thought, ...with the new iOS update I had to select a second 'update' for my carrier settings (which I did) that wasn't mandatory. If you didn't update that part after the iOS initial update, you might be having additional problems.
