my iphone can no longer sync through wifi since I installed the latest version of itunes. It worked perfectly so far but since the update it is not working. Any ideas why this may have happened?
iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 10.3
I found this explanation in a different discussion with a similar problem "stuck on preparing to copy":
"Problem: Itunes won't complete a sync with iphone / ipad, and is stuck on "preparing to copy items" indefinitely.
The fix is ridiculously fast and easy:
Go to your PHONE / IPAD, click settings, general, itunes wi-fi sync, click sync now.
Now go to itunes and sync, and it works as intended!
Hope this helps someone - like the people at Apple Support who had no clue how to resolve this."
Worked for me with preparing to sync issue and for several other users. Tried it again after the first working try and it seemed to work okay in iTunes without having to go back to the iPhone settings again.
Is Bonjour installed? It isn't included with iTunes 12.7, but it you upgraded from 12.6.2.20 it would still be on your computer. Still trying to find out if it is definitely required for wireless syncing, but it is looking that way from the tests I've done so far.

Does it make any difference if you right-click the iTunes shortcut and run iTunes as the administrator?

Since 11.0.3 there's been a change. My iPhone is still using me to connect with a USB cable to iTunes in order to activate Wi-Fi Sync, but it's indeed activated and I see my iPhone wirelessly connect to my desktop. I just don't have the possibility to activate the sync manually. Half a problem, but better than 11, 11.0.1 and 11.0.2
Have you confirmed that it’s not working? On my side. I can’t force it from the phone and it still asks for the USB connection to enable from iTunes but it actually works and I see my phone wirelessly on iTunes.
Yes, Bonjour is installed from the previous version on (I think wifi sync would not have worked otherwise witht he previous version). Everything was working fine before the update. Now I managed to get it to work if I restart itunes. Then it works for abut an hour, but after that time I go back to not being able to sync. Only restarting iTunes allows me to sync.
Any other ideas will be appreciated!
A follow up. I can't manage anymore to get it to sync over wify. it gwets stuck in preparing to sync and eventually says the connection was reset. No matter what I do and even if I reboot both phone and computer.

I am also no longer able to wirelessly sync since I updated the IOS. It is possible to sync with USB. I have tried every possible scenario of troubleshooting including those on this forum, but no luck! This is using a PC.
No, no difference whatsoever. Wifi sync seems to be broken since the update. Not sure what I can do. I have followed all the troubleshooting available.
It is interesting that it broke suddenly with no apparent reason... None of the many 'fixes' online seems to work for me. I'm hoping it magically works again in the next update
I wish I could get there, but my iPhone is just not allowing me. It keeps asking to connect via USB to set Wi-Fi sync first (which I keep doing) but the phone is not recognizing it.
After updating your iphone or iTunes you need first successfully sync using the cable at least once before syncing with wifi. Did you perform a successful sync with the cable after updating iTunes?
