Is there a way to mark a podcast as played in the IOS 11 podcast app? This was an option in the menu items on the prior versions. The new IOS 11 Podcast app took the liberty of re-downloading several old podcast episodes and marking them as unplayed. I was able to delete the downloads and remove them from my library but I can't find a way to mark them as played.

The only way around this I've found so far is to pull the scrubber almost all the way to the right, forward in 15 second increments until there's like 4 or 5 seconds left, and then let that play. It's clunky, at best.
I see an option to delete an episode, but I don't want to not ever have access to it again.
I agree, it's driving me battie. i tried the swishing both left and right. swishin left just gives me the option to delete, and right does nothing. I've resorted to dragging the scrubber all the way to the right, as others are doing. It's no where near as easy to use, and really frustrating when you'r running/riding.
The auto play the next episode appears to have disappeared aswell, which is also frustrating as either I need to manually queue my podcasts, or stop my commute to work to set up the next podcast!
I don't think I'm liking anything about the new format, not even the asthetics!
One thing I've found is that if you go into the setting of a podcast, and select "Custom" you can change the "Delete Played Episodes" to Off. Of course, I think that that then applies to ALL podcasts (some I want to mark as played, others delete), but I suppose if you manually delete, that will do the job.

As has been stated in a few threads, if you place Subscriptions in a Station, the Episodes play automatically from top to bottom. You can set the episode order to Oldest-to-Newest, the reverse or manually position them using the Edit button at the upper right corner of the Station page (see image below).
I was expecting Sync to eventually start to work properly. The prior fix was to always use the Mark as Played and hopefully my desktop and phone would sync.
Now I cannot even mark as Played and the Sync appears to work even less than before.
Third party app? Android?
This doesn't work for me. When I swish to the left, I get the option to delete (which I do not want to do), and it has no effect on the progress bar of the episode.
swishing an episode to the left seems to have the same effect as the “Mark as Played” feature use to have.
That removes it from a Station list and the Listed Now tab. It leaves the episode in the Available list on its Subscription page along with recently played episodes..
