Boot Loop / Error 4013 / iOS 11

My phone automatically updated to iOS 11 overnight, and since then the phone has been stuck in a boot loop (flashing the apple logo every 10 or so seconds).

I followed all the steps this article: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201444

This includes updating iTunes, restarting the iMac, changing the USB cord and port.

I even tried booting into DFU mode. (Where the recovery prompt appears in iTunes while the screen of the phone stays black) and it seemed to work a little better. The software extracted and it changed to "waiting for iPhone" in the iTunes window. Then the apple logo appeared with the bar beneath it on the screen of the iPhone -- but only for less than half a second before the phone automatically restarted again (went dark and then the regular apple logo appeared.)

Each time I tried to restore the iPhone, including the DFU restore, resulted in Error 4013.

Is there any other fix aside from taking this to an Apple Store?

I ultimately had to take the phone to an Apple Store where they shipped it off for “repair.”

I can only guess that either the update messed up the firmware in an irreparable way (even for an DFU mode restore?)... OR it’s possible that the charging port on the phone was dirty/damaged.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hi all,

I have the exact same problem on a iPhone 6S - quite annoying I might add! However, on my phone I got the error 3503 on a number of occasions, before shifting to 4013!

The Phone is now completely useless...

I would appreciate a quick response to this error, as it simply can not be accepted that a phone is bricked by following the update instruction provided by Apple!

Best regards,

Thomas Morgen
