Ipod software 1.1.1

For best results with your Nike-iPod kid, definitely update your nano's firmware to 1.2.

To do so, plug your nano into your computer, launch iTunes and then select your iPod from among the icons in the left-hand column (source pane) of iTunes. Once your iPod information is being displayed in iTunes, choose the "Summary" tab and in the window you will find a button that will allow you to update the firmware.

Do you have a second generation iPod nano? If it's new, then you probably do. In that case, you don't need to update the software on the iPod. Version 1.1.1 is the latest one.

It is a really annoying gotcha, which confused me for a couple of days....

1st Gen Nano-1.3
2nd Gen Nano-1.2
iTunes for Mac-7.0.2
iTunes for Windows-7.0.2.16

Definately try to update. It makes the whole process smoother.

Gah! Now I'm confused. Is the 1.2 for the 1st gen or the second gen? I will digress to the experts as I can find any set in stone info. Sorry for the confusion. All I know for sure is that the 1st gen Nano is up to v.1.3. Sorry.

I had to Restore my Nano this morning after iTunes crashed and now the iPod says it's at 1.1.1 and iTunes says it's up to date. Since I preformed the restore the Nike + iPod option is missing from the iPod menu so I'm pretty sure I need firmware 1.2

However when I try to use the restore button on the iPod page in iTunes the only option is to Restore to Factory Defaults, which is what I did that removed the Nike + iPod menu option.

Is there another way to update the firmware on my iPod?

But what is the problem? If you are unable to update the software, then that is probably because you have a 2nd generation iPod Nano, and you already have the latest version.

The information about updating to version 1.2 only applies to the first gen. nano.

conflicting information? My 2nd gen Nano is at 1.1.1 and shows it's up to date.

I just checked mine again in case they updated versions in the last few days. It still reports 1.1.1 as the latest version for the 2nd gen nano. My itunes is 7.0.2.16, which is the latest also.

I am having the EXACT same problem and I can't figure it out. Did you ever find a solution?

Maybe We're just waiting for next iTunes update...

and its at version 1.1.1
and everytime i connect reciever it says that the accessory is not supported by this ipod!

please help!
