Ipod software 1.1.1

I am wondering if you need to have the ipod software 1.2 in order for the nike + ipod sport to work, because I have ipod software 1.1.1 and I can't get iTunes to update my ipod nano. Then the sensor keeps giving me "senor not connected. Please hit center button to retry"

Anyone know if it is my ipod software that is giving me the trouble? If so how can I update my software?

For best results with your Nike-iPod kid, definitely update your nano's firmware to 1.2.

To do so, plug your nano into your computer, launch iTunes and then select your iPod from among the icons in the left-hand column (source pane) of iTunes. Once your iPod information is being displayed in iTunes, choose the "Summary" tab and in the window you will find a button that will allow you to update the firmware.

I had to Restore my Nano this morning after iTunes crashed and now the iPod says it's at 1.1.1 and iTunes says it's up to date. Since I preformed the restore the Nike + iPod option is missing from the iPod menu so I'm pretty sure I need firmware 1.2

However when I try to use the restore button on the iPod page in iTunes the only option is to Restore to Factory Defaults, which is what I did that removed the Nike + iPod menu option.

Is there another way to update the firmware on my iPod?
