The first thing you might want to check is Settings -> Touch ID & Passcode - > Reply with Message. Enable it to access the decline option even when the iPhone is locked.

Hi, Chandudatla!

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I see that you do not get the "Respond with Text" option when receiving an incoming call. And, this began after updating to iOS 11. I'd be happy to help!

In iOS 11, the "Respond with Text" option appears as "Message" when receiving an incoming call. If you still do not see this option, I would first suggest restarting your iPhone 7 (if you haven't already). You can do this following the instructions here: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch . After the iPhone comes back on, have someone call you to check for the "Respond with Text".

If the option does not appear, the next recommendation I have is to reinstall your iOS 11 software. You can get instructions on doing that under the "Put your device in recovery mode and set it up again" section of If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch . Even though the title of the article isn't the same as your issue, the steps to reinstall still apply.

Reinstalling won't remove any of the data from your iPhone, but I would still encourage you to create a backup before beginning. You can do that using the steps here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch .

Have a good your day!
