iphone 8 crackling issue

Just got my iphone 8 plus 64 GB and it got a crackling sound during calls.

I see previous models have had the same issue. Is this a hardware issue? Reset and manuelt setup don´t fix it.

Hi!

Iam from Germany and i have the same Problem with a black iPhone 8 32 GB. Tried some things like other Networks, resetting the Device and other Things. Apple told me they hope the cause should be the Weather and i thought ***?!?!

At the Moment i think it’s the earpiece which makes this noises under some frequency’s in the Voice of the other Person in the Line. With the Headset no Problems. Such a expensive Device and the Client is Beta Tester.

I noticed the crackling, intermitent crispy noise inside the earpiece of my silver iPhone 8 256 GB since the first day (sept 22), both during audio facetime and cellular calls, randomly, (say half of the calls).

Today, as soon as I noticed the noise during a call I switched on and off the speaker to see if it worked and the noise was gone, not there anymore during that call.

So it seems that the on/off speaker trick actually works, therefore I think that most likely it's a software issue.

Hopefully Apple is aware and can solve it by an iOS 11 update or something.

I've had this issue on my iPhone 8 Plus (64GB, AT&T, iOS 11.0). I can confirm that switching the speaker phone on and off fixes it, but that's really not an acceptable procedure to have to do during every phone call. I agree that it must be a software issue. Update 11.0.1 seems to mostly address Microsoft Outlook issues.

Apple, can we get this fixed soon? It's like a hot/dead pixel...but for your ears. It's not debilitating, but it's annoying and should not be a problem on an Apple product.

I had same or similar issue with my iPhone 6 plus. I get intermittent crackling on any bluetooth I pair with my phone only on cellular calls and the noisy static vibrating speaker sound seems to occur when the other person speaks.

This was fixed for a year when Jabra released new firmware but now I replaced the headset with a newer Jabra with even newer firmware and the problem is back. I also get the same miserable noise in AirPods I just bought. In fact I was told to return them and get them replaced which I did and same problem remains.

I am on IOS 11.0.1 and that did not correct the issue. It is clear the problem is in the iPhone and not the headsets, since I tried both a new Jabra and AirPods and both react the same.

Can someone please get this fixed? I don't want to have to buy an iPhone 7 or 8 just to find I have the same problem which it sounds like from all the posts here that the iPhone 8 is doing the same thing.

Apple support has been unable to find a fix. The Genius at the Apple store cannot help either.

My guess is there is some Bluetooth problem in the OS that is causing all bluetooth headsets to vibrate like the speaker in them is broken during calls. Im at a loss at this point. Bluetooth in the car works fine..NO NOISE, static, speakers crackling etc.
