Just got my iphone 8 plus 64 GB and it got a crackling sound during calls.
I see previous models have had the same issue. Is this a hardware issue? Reset and manuelt setup don´t fix it.

But as is new I would return it and hope it does not affect the new one as is not present on all.
I am having this issue too... Present on every call and very annoying. Restart wont help neither did todays firmware update. Happens almost on every call with the phones earpiece...
Just got the 8 plus 2 days ago & I’m having the same problem. Hopefully this is fixed soon.
My Ip8 256 silver got the same problem! On average 2/3 calls got the crackling sound !
For the crackling issue in the earpiece do I wait for a software update or exchange the phone?
Everyone that I’ve spoken with is saying it’s normal for iPhones to be released with numerous issues. Afterwards updates are given that will fix things. Hopefully these issues are addressed soon.
