Got a new phone, set up with my iCloud backup. Photos not showing up

I had my entire phone backed up to my iCloud, just got the 8 and now all of my photos except maybe the most recent 100 (I have 12k) are showing up as just white. What can I do? They won’t load

I would let it run at least overnight. If it still isn't up to date, turn syncing off/on, but that will cause the entire Library to sync. Patience is probably best.

I'll guess they are still syncing from your iCloud Photo Library.

It’s happening to me too. Installing a backup from my 7 Plus to my 8 Plus. A handful of pictures and apps load, then it just hangs. I’ve let it sit for almost 14 hours with no movement.
