Spinning wheel next to WiFi on iPhone

Hello:

Since I have updated to iOS 11; my phone constantly has the "spinning wheel" issue. My background app refresh is off along with location services. It even spins when connected to Wifi. Does anyone else have this issue? Any help is greatly appreciated since this draining my battery quickly!

On the latest version of iOS, the one I have on my iPhone 8, you have to force start a different way. Holding the power and the volume down button will cause you to make an emergency SOS call (not good).

To force restart the latest cersion of iOS:

1: Quickly press and release the volune up button

2: Quickly press and release the volune down button

3:Now press and hold the power button until the screen goes dark and the Apple Logo appears. ** Ignore the “Slide to pwer off” command when you first press the power button.

Its an indicator of activity and usially pops up when im loading a page or something.. so if you're not online or on an app and its spinning, then its indicating someone or something elses activity on your phone. I heard it was a sign of spyware. But it does happen to me when I somehow accidentaly hit the microphone dictation button on the keyboard. Ive heard some people say it has to do with Siri and so on. Ive found that the issue is linked to the microphone. If u have the FB app thrn you know FB listens through your microphone 24/7 to pick up convos and keywords for target marketing and advertising. So anyways, the only way Ive been able to fix the issue is to go to settings and turn off microphone access on every app, and disable the microphone dictation in keyboard, then restart my phone.. I dont think its a bug or error at all, I think it just indicates the microphone is on and somethings listening at that moment

I double tapped the home button, conjured up Siri and the wheel stopped spinning.

No trip to the store.

No hassles at the mall. (No mall here anyway)

No annoying spinning wheel.

I spent thirty minutes trying all the “fixes” in settings......Siri made it happen.

I wonder what she looks like? Dark hair? Brown eyes? Tall? Obviously intelligent, maybe even a touch of phsycic ability as she didn’t even speak, she just fixed it. Ahhhhhh.

I showed up here to answer the question, and I see that you guys figured it out. Yes, it is a bug with Siri running in the background. Took me weeks to do the process of eliminations, before I bumped into it. Best scenario I have come up with is to set Siri up with: "Hey Siri". If the bug activates itself just say "Hey Siri", she comes on, and you say never-mind,

she says "thank you", and the wheel is history.
