iMessage won’t deliver but my calls are still going through to the contact, what is happening?

I will send a message, and it won’t say delivered. I can send a text message once I long press it as well, but when I call it fully rings through?

Do you have an active data connection (WiFi or celluar)? Calls and SMS messages don't require a data connection. iMessages do.

Hey SummertimeFine,

It looks like you're having trouble sending messages to one particular contact but they're able to receive your calls. This can certianly cause some concern but you've come to the right place to help with this. Does this contact have more than one number or email address that they use for iMessage? If so, are you sure that you're using the right one?
