Hi, I just sign a 2 years contract from SingTel 2 days ago on iphone 8 plus.

I have encountered 2 problems on this iphone.

1. Auto shut down and take times to power up for the my 1st day using.

2. Today I have charge my iphone to 100% in the morning 7.30am and left its at my desk so I went to my work until 2pm I went to take my phone, its was power off. I have try very Long time to power up but its unavailable and can feel the phone is warm.

So can I know what can I do next?

Hi appleices,

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Community. I understand that your new iPhone 8 Plus is turning itself off and now it won't turn back on. It seems you also have some questions about how long it takes to charge your new iPhone. I can understand you must be excited to use your new iPhone! I'm happy to help.

Since your iPhone will not power back on, you'll want to take a look at the steps listed here for help:

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen

Once your iPhone is back up and running, if it continues to restart on it's own, you'll want to follow the troubleshooting steps here:
If your iOS device restarts or displays the Apple logo or a spinning gear unexpectedly

It's normal for your iPhone to take some time to charge depending on how low the battery is, but if you believe that the battery is taking too long to charge, you can check out the information in this article, specifically this section:

If your device charges slowly or won’t charge

Follow these steps and try again after each:

  1. Check your charging cable and USB adapter for signs of damage, like breakage or bent prongs.* Don't use damaged accessories.

  2. Use a wall power outlet and check for firm connections between your charging cable, USB wall adapter, and wall outlet, or try a different outlet.
  3. Remove any debris from the charging port on the bottom of your device, then firmly plug your charging cable into your device. If the charging port is damaged, your device probably needs service.

  4. Let your device charge for a half hour (If your device is unresponsive afterward, learn what to do).
  5. Force restart your device:
    • On an iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Then press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Finally, press and hold the Side button until you see the Apple logo.
    • On an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus: Press and hold both the Side and Volume Down buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
    • On an iPhone 6s and earlier, iPad, or iPod touch: Press and hold both the Home and Top (or Side) buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.
  6. Let your device charge for another half hour.
  7. If your device still won’t power on or charge, take your device, charging cable, and charging adapter to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for evaluation. You can also contact Apple Support.

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't charge
Take care.
