iPhone keeps disconnecting from WiFi

It seems that my 6S running iOS 11 will frequently disconnect from my home WiFi. When I go into the first settings page to see what's up, it will show that no WiFi is connected I then have to go into the next page to see the list of Networks and then have to choose my home network. Eventually, when the phone is sleeping, it will disconnect from WiFi. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

You've probably tried this but if you haven't go into the WiFi settings and find your connected router. Tap on the littie i next to the router's name. First make sure that Auto-Join is turned on. If it is make sure that configure IP and DNS are set to Auto, unless you use a static IP and DNS. After checking all that, I would then tap on Forget This Network at the top of the page. I would then restart the phone and at the same time, reboot the wireless router. Once both are fully rebooted, go back into the Settings>Wi-Fi and tap on your router. You will need to reenter your router password and then join. Again, after you have rejoined that you tap on the little i again and make sure Auto-Join is turned on and configure IP and DNS are set to auto.

If all else fails, you may need to see if your router has a firmware update available.

An Update from Apple support. After a conversation and a structured report, on what is happening, Apple suggested that it must be a hardware issue and that I should send in my phone or go to an Apple store. My suggestion that it is rather unlikely that different devices (iPhones and iPad) simultaniously decide to have the exact same hardware issue didn't raise any eyebrow on the other side of the phone line. Nor did the fact that I can actually reproduce this problem with my iOS 11.2 devices. I will not spend the time and take my device to an Apple store, where I have to start all over again by reproducing the phenomenon. It could be a broader 11.2 issue, judging by similar posts. Unfortunately Apple doesn't seem to be interested in our problems or our help in locating the cause. Too bad...

I am having this problem with two iPhone 8's both with Version 11.3.1 (15E302) installed. Phones have had network settings reset for wifi, connections forgotten, auto join selected etc. At first, I thought it was the crappy Xfinity cable modem / wireless router, but I put that in bridge mode and connected my own router and still get the same issue. Switches from WIFI to LTE randomly and it doesn't seem to matter if we are sitting right in front of the router or in another room. Same issue.

I see they update the phones for this that and the other, but I haven't really even seen any Apple tech 'truly' address the issue. I would thing a problem that has been happening for over a year warrants heave research time by Apple so a solution can be identified.

It is pretty clear to me that Apple does not see this as an IOS issue. But it IS!!! I tried all things mentioned in these posts. But still each time my phone disconnects. It is even worse because in the flitst WiFi it shows that WiFi is connected to my Network but on the top main screen it says 3g Or 4g, No WiFi symbol. So there is an inconsistency in IIOS. This issue is dragging on for more than a year and Apple Does not take it serious. My non iOS devices do not have this issue. So I give this one more month and if this is not fixed by Apple then I will sell my iPhone and move to Android. It is ridicoulous to work with technology like this and keep get disconnected. Shame on you Apple for not taking this serious.

I have screenshots with the inconsistencies in iOS if needed.
