After a month or so of suffering this eyesore, trying turning off and on various notifications and features to no success, I just happened to power off my iPhone 7. When I powered it back on, the problem was gone.
Hope this helps.

But what if you’re not doing any of those things? The music widget is not enabled for the lock screen, the music app, video, podcast, etc., are not being accessed yet the widget keeps appearing on the lock screen and, often, pointing to an app, like Family Guy with a URL pointing to an MP4 file. The iPad Air 2 is running 11.0.2... but an identical iPad running the same iOS version isn’t displaying this issue.
The issue is with either it showing up while not listening to music/ podcast/ audiobook, or showing the wrong app. For example: while listening to music on my iphone the podcast app is showing and I can't pause or play the music without the podcast app starting to play.
I just started having the same problem, and I don’t even use the music app!
I tried powering down, double clicking the home button and swiping everything off and turning off the notification, but it won’t go away. Sounds like some sort of glitch since the last update. Hope Apple fixes this!
I see many people had this issue, so I thought I'd reply with another option.
Did you try quitting the Music app? That works on mine.
If you are actually listening to music, there's nothing you can do.
Same here. Turned everything off but I can’t get rid of the the music widget. I even deleted the music app, but that window still appears and instead of My Music, it just has a phone logo. Incredibly frustrating.
If you are listening to music, a podcast, an audiobook, etc. it will show up on your lock screen. There is not a way to disable this option.
Tried that, it did not help. You would think that would solve it.
THIS IS AN EASY FIX.
GO TO SETTINGS
GO TO NOTIFICATIONS
GO TO COM.APPLE.MUSIC
DON'T ALLOW NOTIFICATIONS
Y'ALL ARE WELCOME!!!!!
Turned all notifications off for music didn’t help...
Same here...tried all possible setting changes...didn’t help...this is so anno
A perfect solution!
after trying everything above , i just did a soft reset hold the power button and home screen button at the same time until the phone powers down , it seemed to fix it for me
why is music showing up on my lock scteen in ios11?
