macOS High Sierra stuck on Calculating... in App Store

I tried to download macOS High Sierra via App Store and clicked Download on its actual app page. The Download text just changed to Calculating... and it has been like that for a very long time (and nothing appeared on my Purchased List of my account).

I'm using MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012) running on 10.12.6. The macOS High Sierra didn't appear on the available updates page. I tried to update Keynote/Pages/Numbers, it was downloading apps but it wasn't updated to the latest one (Keynote 7.3), it was just 6.0.1.

Is there a way to possibly reset the Mac App Store? I've tried signing out too. The account works fine on other Macs (Mac Mini and MacBook Pro Retina) so I was wondering why it's not working on the old one.

HighSierra is in the Featured Page.

Shutdown Appstore, reopen, go to the Featured page, sign in, download/install.

My download stuck too, but turning wifi off/on got it going again. I wonder if it has the effect of changing the server being used or resetting the queuing priority.

It may be that the Apple servers are a bit overloaded: a lot of new and updated software now.

Yes, you can download it on another mac. Make a TimeMachine backup before you upgrade !!!!!!

Do you have a SSD in the MBP 2012, or have you the HDD?

If the SSD, I would wait with HighSierra, the APFS conversion is automatic and can not easily be reverted. There are a lot of issues.

Try restarting your Mac and download it again. If it happens again, then your computer might not be ready for the update quite yet.

Did you download on the MBP2015 from the same internet connection?

"Do you think it's okay to use the installer downloaded from this machine to the 2012 one?"

Yes, the download is not machine specific.

I see. It might be that you might not have a good WIFI connection and it is just taking a long time to contact the Apple servers to receive the download.

Hi Lexiepex, thanks. Yes, I know that, the problem is that when you click Download, it's just stuck on Calculating... There's no progress message or anything denoting that it's really being downloaded. I even checked the network monitor but there's no impact on the connection.

There is still 30GB+ free space so that shouldn't be a culprit. I was thinking now to just download the installer from another Mac then use that to install High Sierra. Is this setup just fine?

In the case of the MBP 2012, it is running on HDD. The MBP 2015 runs on SSD and has a copy of the installer. Do you think it's okay to use the installer downloaded from this machine to the 2012 one?

I am still hoping that the App Store issue can still be resolved because this can possibly happen to other apps (e.g. Keynote). Thanks.

WiFi connection is already ruled out (we are running on a network of 240+ Mbps) plus the fact of being successful with the 2 Macs which finished installing almost at the same time. I tried restarting it but it still happens. What do you mean by "then your computer might not be ready for the update quite yet" ?

Well, fortunately, it worked when I got home after 2 reboots. Do you think there's a way I can check through some logs (/var/logs) for what had happened before? Is there a specific log file that has a detailed history of the updates installed? The visual history (on App Store) is somewhat erroneous.
