Hi,
iOS is iPhones, iPads, iPod touches.
macOS or OS X for earlier versions is for Macs (computers).
I can grab the FaceTime window on my Mac and move it around the Screen.
I am using the grey space above the search field and under the Favourite and Recents list. In fact I can click and hold my own Video and move it about.
Try a NVRAM reset https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT204063

Yes, I have.
I have also made a remote session with Apple Care (Apple Case 100346658858) and presented the issue.
I was told it is not a bug, but a "modification" and because they have a lot of complains it might be changed back...
Take your time people (I know, time is precious) but it is more important to submit bug report, open a case, then to just post on forums.
The window is there when screen sharing, meetings, remote assistance etc. and it blocks parts of the screen so it is hard to work.
Regards.
@Dr. Rosen THANK YOU!
Sitting at my desk working on a few things and got a call from a friend. Decided to answer on my MacBook Pro (latest OS) instead of my iPhone. Shortly regretted the decision after finding out that I was no longer able to move or minimize the FaceTime Audio window. Quickly got online to see if anyone had solved this issue (as it seems Apple hadn't). Read the first couple of replies on this discussion and then came across yours. Who would've known something so easy would solve the issue. Hold 'Option' key + click Notification Center bars (usually 3 vertical lines in the top right corner of screen) and the little, yet annoying, window goes away. Again, thank you so much.
This was making me crazy. I finally found that option/clicking the notification icon in the top right corner of your screen opens and closes the audio banner. Pretty easy, but it's still a bug because when you set up Facetime in Notifications, it's supposed to be either a banner (which should fade out), or an alert (which should go away when clicked, but doesn't).
In previous version of Mac OS (Sierra, Yosemite etc.) one could move or minimize the FaceTime audio call. This is important when working remotely with a team on screen share (such as WebEx).
This new behaviour in High Sierra is terrible, because the FaceTime audio window now blocks all content (such as apps, icons on the desktop etc) which I'm trying to work with on the call. Previously one could just minimize it or move it, but now that section of the screen is "dead".
Even worse - when presenting my own desktop to a remote team, I can't hide that FaceTime call window.
Here's my bug report: https://bugreport.apple.com/web/?problemID=35010219 - if we all report it then perhaps the engineers at Apple might notice that this new design is badly broken for those who use FaceTime in a professional capacity.
Have you all reported it as a bug? If you haven't, please file it officially here:
I filed one. I'm sure most of them will be closed and marked as duplicates but as they see more people reporting the same thing they will pay more attention to it (prioritize it).
Exactly. It will be solved much quicker if more people let them know it’s a problem.
It might even not be a bug but intentional for some reason.
I reported this as a bug as well. It was marked duplicate.
Everybody that wants this to be solved should file a bug report and submit Apple feedback as well.
I submitted Feedback, again, on this issue just today. The "hold the Option key and click the Notification Center (three lines)" works to make the phone call box disappear, but then you need to turn notification center back on to end the call. I'd much prefer to just be able to drag the active call box to a new place on my screen that would be out of my way, but still visible and easily accessible.

This is a user-to-user forum. It is not now and never has been a way to contact Apple Support.
You can submit feedback to Apple here:
This is NOT about notifications
But it is. The change (by Apple) to make the call panel a ("proper") notification banner is the root of the problem.
Hi,
Redarm has got to Level 4 and 2,00 or so points, at the time of writing, so some people are liking his (I am going by the icon) answers.
The info they have given has been clear and there have been attempts to keep the mood light despite the annoying nature of the issue.
Moderators on this site are called Hosts.
They rarely appear in Threads.
You can see their actions sometimes as the remove from public view Post that break the rules or they Edit them and a tag line saying it was done is added to the post.
There is no Host in this Thread.
The issue is to do with the way Apple have now coded the Alert/Banner/Window that appears top right of the screen.
Audio Alerts in iChat were windows.
Windows can be moved.
It seems (we know through testing) that the item is Now a Banner linked to notifications as you can make not appear (not useful) by turning Off Notifications for FaceTime.
Apple do need to Change this back.
Some Fixes (bigger picture stuff) do get solved in these forums and find their way in to Updates and sometimes Apple Documents.
But broadly speaking unless a Level 6 (or above) brings it to the Hosts attention in the Lounge > New Technical issue the engineers don't get to hear about it other than the reporting methods listed in various Posts in this Thread.
It appears that this is your first Post and you have chosen to criticise another poster and have offered no help for the issue yourself.

Hi,
Previously thee were alert type windows.
Windows can be moved.
Now it seems they have been made the way Notifications puts up Alerts and Banners on the Screen and are not moveable.
From there it seems that there is little, if anything at all, the end user can do to mitigated this.

Just started using my FaceTime again after updating to new MBP on 10.13.3. There are many features that are bugged in this version compared to my last macOS 10.11.6.
1) Yes the window does not move, it seems to be tied to the Notification Center as it does move over when you open the Notification Center. I have not been able to hide it with the aforementioned "option" trick. Has anyone tried to change the FaceTime notification pref? I have mine set to "Alert", I will try to change it to "None" or "Banner" to see what happens.
2) The horizontal line in the active call window is supposed to display the EQ sound curve as it did before. The low Hz (frequency) vertical lines at the left and the high Hz at the right. This was great to see before as you could really tell the difference between someone calling using FaceTime (apple's voip), great sound quality, or if you are talking with someone using wi-fi calling to a cell phone 3G signal, horrible quality (you will see all the EQ lines at the higher Hz truncated). That is frequency (Hz) range where all the vocal articulation is heard. NOW, I have just tried calling my phone with my computer and the EQ lines show up? But not with any other outgoing or incoming FaceTime call. crazy bug.
3) In order to use the number keys on the computer to enter an extension after call initiation you can't just press numbers on your keyboard anymore. You have to hit the mute button, then numbers, then unmute. Has to be a bug...
4) While you are playing iTunes, you used to be able to place a call, the iTunes volume would be slowly reduced automatically, then after the call was terminated the volume would come back up slowly. Now it just cuts off abruptly, and it does not come back after call termination. You have to hit play again. yuk
What a shame Apple can't keep on top of their OS's. I will submit a bug report soon. Any updates on this?
macOS 10.13.4 here and no change.

What amazes me is that Apple management/staff/CEO etc. don't use this basic features that "were" supposed to be great things only Apple has ...
Ahh,
In that case the fixed Audio window top left seems to be the position of the normal function.
That same place is use for Notifications and the like.
It used to be the position for Audio Chats in iChat.
I had not used Audio chat on my computer for some time so I can't tell you when it became fixed.
I have only ever worried about lining up the Video chat with the Camera so it looks like I am looking at the person.
