Airprint not working after ios11 update

Hi all.

I have a Brother printer connected via USB to a Windows computer. I used Airprint Activator and the Bonjour printer wizard. The printer of course supports wireless and is connected to the same WiFi network my phone is on. For nearly two years I have had no issue printing from my iPhone 6 Plus. It would find the printer, I typed in the user name and all as well.

Even during this time however a box would pop up on my iPhone stating something to the effect that the name wasn't secure and if it was expected to hit continue. I would and it would print no issues.

Now after the ios11 update, I cannot print. It finds the printer, yet when I hit print a box pops up stating "Security of connection could not be verified."

I have searched and read and cannot find anything about this. There is no firewall so I would not think the ports would be the issue. Guest account was not enabled before and it worked fine, however I have enabled it now. Still no luck.

I'm at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a link to the windows software as the one I can find is the same as the one I already had

Same problem here; my wife was smart enough to upgrade, she is working fine.

I tried apple dupport that was useless.

11.0.2 did not help in any way.

Your wife upgraded and it works? What do you mean? As I’m on it home 8 and have the issue

I hope you all have logged this with apple support? They connected to my phone to down data and I sent them a screen recording of the error etc.

Well, 11.0.3 did not fix it.

Of course I did not see where they said it would; I wonder if they even care.

Apple won’t fix this as you are not using AirPrint direct but an emulator though windows. I have the same problem and this is what Apple told me.

You have summarized the issue very well, there are many of us with the very same issue still looking for a solution.

Maybe some day Apple will pay attention to this.

Apple will not but if you d like to wait that would be up to you. Apple is not responsible for incompatibility of third party software with any of it's operating systems.

You don´t have to restart your ipad, when the pop up message appears...

Just double klick home button, go to print management an cancel the print job.
