Exchange mail not incoming in Mail

Since I updated my MacBook Pro to macOS High Sierra, my Mail app has been acting strange.

At first it synced all my mails (through an iCloud, a Gmail as well as an Exchange account), but today I've not received any more mails on my Exchange account. I'm receiving the mails on my iPhone, so I know it's not the server or anything. Mails are coming in on the other accounts though.

I've tried disabling the Exchange account, removing and re-adding it as well as testing if it sends/receives. When I tried to send a mail from the account to myself (same e-mail address), the app crashed and started looping as in starting with a new message window, crashing again, opening,...

I really don't know what to do because macOS High Sierra is brand new and I can't find anything on the same issue.

If you know a solution, feel free to post it here.

Thanks in advance!

Greetings

Vince

When you delete the account in System Preferences > Internet Accounts, you need to verify in your User's Library/Mail/V5 folder that the alphanumeric folder that contains your Exchange account was actually removed.

Also in the User's Library, delete com.apple.mail folder in Containers.

Log out/in or Restart

Go to System Preferences > Internet Accounts and add the Exchange account back.

Does it work now?

Hi Benny

I tested this (some time after you posted it, I know) and it works.

When I contacted Apple Support about the issue and explained them how the issue persists, they told me the problem lies with my mail server.

It's difficult to arrange something with the tech support here (external IT firm delivers mail server for our company) so I can not test their suggestion. Have you come any closer to a solution?

Kind regards

Vince

This absolutely worked for me, thanks. It's not perfect, but at least I know now how to force a send/receive - I just have to rely on my phone to tell me I have a new email, and then use this method to see it on my MacBook.

Weird thing is, this isn't the only Exchange inbox on my machine - I have one gmail account, and then several Exchange accounts. This issue is only occurring for one of them, so I don't know what the deal is.

I am having the same problem. I have spent multiple hours on the phone with a senior level technician at Apple. Although she was extremely nice, and tried her hardest to help, the conclusion was that it is an Exchange problem. This is lame because my Mail worked great until the iOS update to High Sierra. Would sure be nice to get it working again. Hopefully someone comes up with a fix.

I talked to our internet service provider. They update their server "aggressively". So, the tech checked to make sure they had the latest updates. He said they do, and that it is an Apple issue. So, I am confused with all of the finger pointing. But, needless to say, my Apple Mail has not worked since the iOS update to High Sierra. It has not worked since October or November. Our email server gets updated frequently. It has been updated several times since November. I have spent countless hours on several phone calls with senior level techs at Apple and with our email service company. My mail still does not work.
