Turning Off "Now Playing" on Apple watch

I would like to disable the "Now Playing" display on my Apple Watch. I do not plan to control the music on my iPhone with the watch, and the display is unnecessary. How does one go about doing this? I have a "first generation" watch and my iPhone is running on iOS 11. Thanks, in advance.

Hi

Now Playing can be configured to be shown automatically on Apple Watch upon raising your wrist when playing supported media on your iPhone.

To turn this feature off:

On your iPhone, in the Watch app, go to: My Watch (tab) > General > Wake Screen > turn off Auto-Launch Audio Apps.
