I recently just installed the new macOS High Sierra on my MacBook Pro 13" mid 2012 model. Suddenly I realised the serial number is not showing anymore and just says "Unavailable". What should I do? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I don't think so. I'm not the first owner of this mbp so I can't really say. I have no issues using appstore or itunes though. Also, in system report, it just says "Not Available" under serial number. Should I be worried?

No, nothing to worry about. The lack of the serial number won't matter for any operations. If you have questions for Apple Support you may need to provide it, but there are other places to find it:

The serial number is used to derive keys for iMessage, BtmM and other iCloud services and you won't be able to sign in to these services if system profiler shows it as unavailable.
Was your processor replaced at any point? This generally will happen if a processor has been replaced and the tech forgot to run he re-serialization tool.
Form the terminal.app copy and paste,

does it match the SS# on the bottom case?:
It returned nothing.
You will have to take it to Apple or Apple service provider to have them flash the board.
