ATT says Direct TV will not work on a MAC BOOK PRO.
This seems unlikely to me but I cannot figure it out.
It plays on my IPAD, what can i do to make it play on my Direct TV??

Safari does not display the watch page correctly. I had to install Chrome which worked flawlessly.

Your iPad's iOS may have an app for it, while either there isn't one for macOS or you don't have it installed. Direct TV support should be able to determine that for you.
That likely answers your question. There are plenty of apps which are just designed for Windows, or just Android, or just iOS....
ATT Directv app lets you watch on certain cell phones and devices but not on PCs or Laptops. ATT wants you to pay additional $35 month to use "Directv NOW" to stream on PCs and Macs.
Try loading the app on a phone or table and mirror the image to a TV or device connected to a TV.

Direct TV was not able to help me at all. They suggested I contact Apple Support. I talked to someone in their tech support who indicated that their products were primarily designed for a PC!
I just did a Google search and it turned up this: Requirements for watching DIRECTV on a computer, tablet, or smartphone which says it will work on a Mac using Safari or Chrome.
Need to watch Direct TV on my mac, how?
