Apple TV with non HD TV

Can anyone confirm whether appleTV will work with an older non HD TV running the component video and audio to a scart socket.

Thanks

That is exactly my point if the spec of the TV

scart
socket is full 21 pin then it will support

component
RGB.

Not necessarily Stuart - it depends on the
manufacturer - whilst all 21 pins are in use, it
still may not support Component within the device
itself.

Anyway - I've just ordered one of these convertors:-

http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/YUV-RGB-SCA
RT.html

Their site claims this will work with fully-wired RGB
Scart sockets - although I'm still not convinced.

At only 5.95 plus postage its worth a try - I'll hook
it up to my TV and check it with my XBox 360's
component output - I'll post the results as soon as I
receive it.

Sadly this didn't work on my TV, so my two year old HiDef wide-screen plasma doesn't support the Apple TV. It also proves that even though your scart is wired for all 21 pins the TV may not support both RGB and Component - in Europe I suspect the majority of Scarts will support RGB only.
