How delete table in numbers iMac

how do I delete an unwanted empty table in Numbers? Touching top left button does nothing.

iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015), iOS 11

Make the table active by any of the methods:

1) click and hold to the right of the table, then drag to the left until the table highlights

2) click and hold to the left of the table, then drag to the right until the table highlights

3) click on the edge of the table


Then type the delete key

the concentric circles in the top-left of an active table are for relocating the table

the parallel, vertical bars on the top-right of an active table are for adding additional columns (click to add one, drag to add many)

the parallel, horizontal bars on the bottom-left of an active table are for adding additional rows (click to add one, drag to add many)


the control at the bottom-right is for resizing both rows and columns
