Folders can't be accessed when copied to desktop

Hi,

I've just upgraded to the macOS to High Sierra, and immediately I encountered this problem: when I tried copying a folder containing files (movies, docs, etc.) into the MacBook desktop, it was successfully copied but the folder is not in solid colour instead it's in transparent, and I can't open it.

But if I copied the folders into another place, say like the Download folder, it's alright.

What's wrong?

MacBook, macOS High Sierra (10.13), 12-inch, Early 2017

Yup, the iCloud Drive is turned on.

Not the same thing as I asked. There is a feature in iCloud Drive Options to store all of you Desktop & Documents on iCloud Drive.

No, the feature isn't new to Sierra.

So what should I do?

If you have Desktop & Documents in iCloud Drive enabled, then you can disable it (if you don't want all of your Desktop and Documents folder items in the cloud).

If you disable the feature, it will warn you that all of the files will only be available on iCloud Drive. That's Ok.

Then, go to iCloud Drive, open Desktop and Documents, and drag all the files in each to the respective folders in your Home folder. It will warn you that they will no longer be available on iCloud. Again, that's Ok as that is what you wanted.

If you don't have Desktop & Documents in iCloud Drive selected,

are you using something else to sync to the cloud, like Dropbox?

Do you have Desktop & Documents enabled for iCloud Drive? If so, it may not have finished syncing, yet.

Yup, the iCloud Drive is turned on.

So it's because the macOS High Sierra is still trying to upload the files inside that folders that's why I can't access it yet? FYI the files can get as big as more than 4GB.

Didn't have this problem with macOS Sierra, is this a new feature from High Sierra?

So what should I do?

Just copy the folders into other places than the desktop?
