Screen Rotation iPad Air - iOS 11 and 11.01

Since I updated my iPad Air to iOS 11 (and subsequently 11.01) my screen rotation has stopped working and is in constant portrait mode.

I have, locked the screen, unlocked it and rebooted the iPad but the screen will not rotate to Landscape mode and is in a constant state of being in portrait mode.

Think I have tried everything and can only presume it may be fixed one day with a software update!?

Is this just me or is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I've found that when I rotate the iPad to landscape and then press the home button, the home screen is rotated as expected. Any subsequently opened app that supports screen rotation is also now in landscape. Repeat the procedure to go back to portrait.

Hi. Works for my iPad Air.

Are you sure you have iPad Air (A1474), not iPad Air 2 (A1566)? This is the marketing model number, on the back, or in Settings > General > Regulatory.

Are you using the side switch for Mute or Rotation lock?

I was just guessing that the side switch might be dicky. But if you're not using the switch, then it's out.

Have you restarted the iPad? Hold Sleep and Home buttons until you see the Apple, about 15 seconds.

I wouldn't hope for a fix from Apple unless there are a lot of posts here with the same problem, since if it's not widespread, there's no reason for them to know about it.

Please report it to Apple via the feedback tool, they need to know this issue, if not it won’t get fixed.

Thanks for the reply, it’s definitely a (A1474) iPad Air.

The screen rotation was absolutely fine before I updated to iOS 11 and it worked very initially and then it stoped rotating.

I updated to iOS 11.01 thinking this may fix it but it hasn’t!

I have tried and untried using the screen lock switch but to no avail.

Sort of lost what to do now.

Hello...you are not alone. I am having the same issue with my iPad Pro 12.9 inch. Since installing iOS 11 I am stuck in portrait mode and cannot rotate my iPad no matter what I try. And i do not have the screen rotation lock on. I just updated to version 11.0.2 today and still no change. This is very frustrating. Any suggestions?

I was just wondering if anyone has been able to resolve this issue. I just downloaded the newest update this morning and I am still stuck in portrait mode. I have contacted appple support twice now with no resolve.

Nope, mine is a brick now after about 8 iOS updates, I have contacted them as well and I think you will find that there will be no fix at all.

Made me go Android I am afraid as Apple have forgotten what their purpose is.

Hello...I am having the same issue with my iPad Pro 9.7 inch. I have the newest update, iOS 11.2.2. I just updated yesterday and it happened before I did the update, but has continued even after the update. I get stuck in portrait mode. And i do not have the screen rotation lock on. It sometimes will help to reboot, but then it happens again. This is very frustrating. Any suggestions?
