ios 11 Keyboard in Text Messages

I could not agree more. This was an awful idea. They seemingly shrunk the keyboard to just the middle of the screen and removed the extra helpful buttons. I noticed this morning when I turned my phone sideways to respond quickly to an email and immediately thought it must be a setting. No such luck. Definitely a step backwards Apple.

This is really weird. My keyboard goes edge-to-edge (no grey area on the sides). I have an iPhone-7 with IOS 11.01. Because of the removed keys (accessible through 123), my keyboard is actually larger than it had been previously. You guys are not the first to report a shrunken keyboard. I tried everything that I could think to replicate the issue but I'm unable to do so.

Ironically, I never use landscape view!

My IPad and my 7 plus were doing that and I just now loaded ios 11.1.1 and it fixed the problem. I couldn't get a period or comma in landscape mode even by hitting the 123 key, I couldn't get them at all and as you can see I actually use punctuation.

If I could figure out why mine is good, I could help you guys but, so far, I'm clueless.

Apple changed the keyboard. you need to click on 123 next to the space bar to get to the comma.

We are all users. Contact Apple for that information.

The difference is that one is a plus model and one is a regular model. Since there is no problem to solve this discussion is pointless.

In another thread the problem was reported with non- plus units.

I had no way of knowing that.

Look above. Period but no comma.

Now that you have clarified that it is 11.0.1, this update does not revert the keyboard back and apple does not support reverting my to a previous iOS.
