Three-finger tap, or control+command+D bring up a new panel on High Sierra. Click the Continue button on this panel to see the expected word lookup results as before. After you have clicked the Continue button, future three-finger taps will directly bring up the dictionary lookup panel as before.

After " upgrading " to Mac OS High Sierra , open dictionary and its preferences , check the boxes of desired dictionaries the bar will start loading after completion , open system preferences > trackpad > point and click > check the box for look up and data detectors .
Why don't you look in SystemPreferences->Trackpad where all the settings for the Trackpad are. You can change to your preferences there.
