What happened to double click to drag?

New 2017 MacBook Pro. OS 10.12.8

My older MBP using 9.10 I could do a double tap with one finger to move windows, etc. Under Sierra I now have to use 3 fingers to move a window and that doesn't work when you want to move anything else like an icon on the desktop or an image in Quark.

There doesn't seem to be a way to customize selection clicking.

I've checked the MacBook Pro manual and did a search in spotlight.

Thanks, but I've already checked that out. It doesn't solve my problem.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the directions, the only way I can drag anything is to use 3 fingers. It's awkward keeping all three finger in contact with the track pad and also move in any direction at the same time.

Under older version of OS10 and 2013 version of MacBook Pro, I could double tap with my middle finger and then drag a window or icon or whatever.
