Just downgraded to macOS Sierra. Problem solved 🙂
Thanks for reply. However in "Recents" my newly created files does not show up, Whereas with "All My Files" When doing emails just click attachment and then "all my files" select the file.
With the current "Recent" i have to manually find the folder and click several subfolders just to get there. This takes alot of time specially when i do alot of emails.
Yes the PDF's are generated by the "Save to PDF. (Mostly the PDFs that are not appearing is when saved from "MS Office Applications" Please keep me posted about your report. Im thinking of switching back to macOS Sierra because of this.
thanks for the reply, however this does not apply to my case. i cant see even a single pdf 😟
I never used All My Files so I can't tell you whether it replicates it or not.
It was too full of useless files for it to actually be of any value.
I can't give you the exact criteria, but here is an example of building something similar.
Couldn't find 'All My File' on Finder's sidebar
My chosen criteria is just an example, not the exhaustive list of criteria needed to replicate All My Files.
As you noted, the criteria for Recents uses Metadata to determine the files to list. If that metadata is not set, then the file is not included. Printing to PDF doesn't set that metadata. AirDrop does not set the metadata.
I haven't tested all software, but Office 2016, Pages seems to set the metadata (or the OS does it).
I have started filing Problem Reports for this issue, so I'll add Print to PDF, also.
Were your PDFs generated like that or some other software?
