my screen is being split while I'm on my email or texting on my iPad. So when I'm on my text messages I can see my inbox whike I'm writing a message. Same thing with the email. Is there any way I can stop this?

First locate the “handle” for moving the windows. It is located on the border that divides the two windows. See the area circled in red.
Then in Press your finger on this area for a second or two, a “long touch”. After resting for a couple of seconds, drag that handle off the right edge of the screen (in the direction of the arrows).
That should make the right window disappear.

Hi. I don't think so. It's in the design of the apps. They might be different in portrait mode.
