Album cover won't show in Finder

Album covers of mp3/aac files won't show in Finder after upgraded to macOS 10.13.

All of my 3 Macs have the same issue.

I believe it's not a special case but a system bug....or it's not?

Anyone experiencing the same problem?

It's so obvious, I don't know how could this happen...

And, yet I don't know how to report the issue besides the old feedback site, which I've reported several bugs and no one cares...

MacBook Pro with Retina display, macOS High Sierra (10.13)

This issue has been fixed in 10.13.2 (confirmed at my Mac mini 2014, two MacBook Pro 13'' 2015).

If you're experiencing some fixed, some not problem, it may relate to the system cache, try some tool which can rebuild the cache files.

I'm changing this topic to solved.

After all still very disappointed that Apple took so long to fix such a obvious yet (should) can be fixed easily problem.

Considering the huge bugs happened to macOS, iOS, watchOS(extremely slow), really frustrating.

Yes, I agree that the symptom is on Finder, but is at least a little bit strange you reinstall iTunes and everything it's working again.
I believe that some service installed with iTunes is essencial to quicklook works on Finder. And after restart the machine, this service is not starting anymore.

For me, after reinstall the iTunes (without restart de machine), everything it's working (track cover and track infos).

Best,

I believe that it is an iTunes issue!

Note:

I tried before to uninstall iTunes following a Sierra guide but didn't worked.
Than I try to reinstall (without uninstall) the iTunes downloading the dmg file in the iTunes site. And after install the iTunes, everything is working again.

I believe that some service (iTunes or other) not start with the macOS when you reboot your Macbook.

What I did was drag all the mp3 and m4a files at once into an app called Music Tag Editor and then just hit "save". Then a couple minutes later all the artwork appeared in the normal "details/list" view in finder with the unfortunate side effect of having all the dates changed to the current date which means no sorting by original date order. But otherwise it is sticking through 10.13.2 beta 4 now.

I received a call back from Apple support today regarding the escalation to engineering for this issue.

I was told they have received many reports on this problem and it is now a known bug with the High Sierra. I was also told that they are working on a fix, however there is no ETA as to when or how (update, workaround, etc) the fix will be made available.

So the good news is that they know about the bug and acknowledged that it exists, but the bad news is we have no idea when they will fix it.
