App Switcher/Home

Home screen is no longer part of the app switcher? If I think an app is open, double click the home button and find it’s not, I have to choose an app to enter and then click Home to get out of it and back to my home screen. Is there a solution?

Just tap anywhere above or below all of the preview windows in the app switcher screen to get back to the home screen. In other words, just tap anywhere but on one of the app thumbnail windows. There is no need to go back to an app like you are doing.
