numbers converting to zip/dropbox

Prior to iOS 11 update i was able to upload a numbers file to dropbox as an excel spreadsheet. Now, when I do the same method it makes the file a zip file which I cannot open on a desktop or iPad. In addition, it is renaming files from numbers with a date/time format instead of what I actually named the file within the app. Did iOS 11 take away the ability to convert a numbers to excel and save to dropbox?
