iOS11 notifications disappearing from lock screen

Hi,

I’m using an iPhone 8 running iOS 11.0.2 and I’m finding that text message notifications are disappearing from my lock screen. For example, I received a message at 4.45pm and it appears on my lock screen, however if I don’t open it and leave it to deal with later, it has disappeared from my lock screen (phone has not been unlocked since). It is also not showing in my notification centre. Has anyone else found this or does anyone know a fix for it?

I don't believe this is the case here. Originally this was my thought as well, and I went through several troubleshooting steps to determine the issues. I have almost all notifications turned off, except for messages, and mail (the ones I notice the issue on). I don't use live wallpapers, I have all motions turned off, and I don't use night shift or anything else that affects the lock screen. I even tried turning off my apple watch completely, as well as control centre access from the lock screen. Finally, I did a complete factory reset of my phone, did NOT restore from back-up, and it was still happening with only default apple apps installed. None of these steps solved the issue.

The ONLY thing that has fixed it for me is turning off "show in history". This leads me to believe there is a bug with notifications being stored in history which causes them to disappear from the lock screen after a period of time.

I just installed the new update 11.4.1 in the hopes this bug has been fixed but I’m sorry to report it has not. After the install I had my husband text me then waited a feeble more minutes and turned the phone back on. It showed 3 messages in the red dot notification but when I tapped on messages, of course they weren’t there and never will be.

I wonder, has anyone upgraded their iPhone and by so doing, gotten rid of the bug? I’m due for an upgrade but really don’t want to invest any more in Apple ifthat bug persists.

As I’m afraid to turn my phone off any more because of this isssue, I haven’t had any recurrences but I will stage some today and follow your directions and generate the report for you to send. I do very much appreciate your efforts in trying to solve this. Right now it’s the one thing keeping me from an upgrade to the 8 as it seems the problem persists with any upgrades. Thanks again. I hope you can get others to send you reports as well. Apple doesn’t seem the least bit interested in any problems these days. My Apple Pencil will not charge and they just said get the battery replaced at a Genius Bar. That means a 6 hour round trip for me when the guys at the Genius Bar admitted they don’t actually change the battery, they just give me a new pencil. The trip plus time and aggravation cost more than a new pencil so I will just have to buy one and hope it lastlonger than the first one. Thanks again.

This is the problem I am having too. Sometimes the notifications will remain all day until I get to them and sometimes they will all disappear after I acknowledge one or two. It is very inconsistent. Also I do not see an option to make notifications permanent or temporary so I can’t see that this is the problem. I use notifications like a to do list and get to them when I can but like I said sometimes they just disappear! What is the problem??

This scrolls up and empty notifications with no clock. All is missing. I can reset but in a day or so it will go away again. This is rediculous.

Something I notice. The clock goes away as well.
