iOS11 notifications disappearing from lock screen

iMessages may be stored in the cloud, but I somehow doubt your text messages will be. It would be nice though.

While I'm wishing, I'd love for an iMessage client for Windows. 😀

I’m with you there! The most troublesome aspect of this issue for me is how many IMPORTANT messages are missed along with my family and friends thinking I might be just ignoring him. So frustrating!

Yes you are right only iMessage I have tried everything and nothing works it shows up when you get message then disappears after awhile

How do you switch off “show in history”?

Go to settings, then notifications and messages then turn off show in history. I've tried everything and nothing worked for me

This issue has been happening for a long time. You would think a standard iOS app would work flawlessly.

That sounds like a good plan. I’m going to do the update to 11.4 and then do a deliberate test and come back with the results. Thanks for your interest in helping with this issue.

The same thing happens to me, but when I look in the app there are no new messages. It’s almost like the notifications come before the actual text. (Even though the text never actually comes)

The (very un-Apple-like) workaround turning off "Show in history" worked for me, too. But it's not really a solution having to deactivate one feature to be able to use another...

Has anyone tried updating to iOS 12? It breathed new life into my tired iPhone 6 and someone who was having this notification problem says it seems gone since he updated to iOS 12.
