muted texts coming through watch

I’m having the same issue with my Apple series 2 watch and iPhone 7. I have one group message muted on my phone because of activity, but they still buzz continuously on my watch. It’s so annoying. I hope this is fixed soon!

I’m having this exact same issue. Apple Watch 3 mirroring iPhone 7 Plus. My group message thread is muted due to high activity, but the notifications and haptics are still coming through on the watch. This gets a little frustrating.

I’ve tested muting a single text message and this works as it should. So, there’s definitely a bug on the group messages for this feature.

While searching around, I found a few instances of other users reporting this in the past (2015) but nothing recent and no indication of whether it’s been fixed in the newer iterations of watchOS. It would seem not.

You are not alone. I don't think there's a way to fix this and it's awful! I would like to get messages from certain people but not EVERYONE! especially awful when there are very active group texts.
