No sound on iPhone screen recording

Yes the there is a toggle you can press to allow microphone audio
Heres how to turn it on

1. Go into the control centre
2. Find the screen record icon

3. Long hold on the icon
4. Press 'Microphone Audio' in the popup

The grey icon should turn red to signify that you've turned on the microphone

Yes it does, when you are doing screen recording and you want it to record the mic as well, press and hold the screen recording button in the Action Center and youll get a toggle to turn the mic on and off.

What if you didnt toggle it on? Can you get audio back?

Strangely I have noticed that for me, both audio and video recording works only first time after I restart my iphone.

But when I try to record the same video again or a different video, I could not hear any audio.

It has nothing to do with the length of video as I tried recording several times with smaller videos but no audio got recorded.

I even tried with both options 'Microphone Audio' On and Off but it did not help.

However the voice over works all the time but if I play any video which has an audio then it does not capture any audio (embedded audio from video or voice over) for the duration while video is playing.

The trick is to again restart your phone and it will work on for the very first video you try to record.

It could be a bug.

I record a video with mic on, with my voice

Than i again record with Mic OFf and play the recorded video.

Means I record screen while playing recorded video.

So this one works fine when k send to WhatsApp Facebook or upload in YouTube

Everyone from Apple, Camtasia and anyone in between insists the screen recorder records with audio. After updating to 11.4.1 I lost the audio on my screen cast as well.

Made a video showing screen recording, with sound, before the IOS update and a video recording, without sound, after the IOS 11.4.1 update. I think at this ppint the only fix is to roll back the update which to my knowledge is not something that can be done?

Hello, just reset your Iphone but make sure that all important files are already backed up before doing this.

Go to SETTINGS > GENERAL > RESET > ERASE ALL CONTENTS AND SETTINGS

After I updated to iOS 11.1 screen recording webinars from my iPad now also includes the audio. I can now just long press the record icon, turn mic audio on, tap the record button and switch to the browser or webinar app. Whoop!

I'm having the exact same issue! I updated to the lastest IOS update and thought it would fix it but it hasn't. I'e asked people around me and they said the issue got fixed for them in the latest update. That's what I'm confused on. Also, does restarting the phone help when you record external audio as well as? I tried that and the mic only picks up my voice. Any feedback would help, thank you!

My issues is that I know how to record audio and it works BUT when you post the video anywhere the audio disappears! It is there in camera roll, but if you post to facebook, it is silent. What's the deal?

Well I’ve noticed that I can record if in a game and get sound. But have tried to record when in a video training and it did record but has no sound. Guessing they don’t want you to record things that can be copyrigh. So it good thing I guess but bad for people that only want to view the information later and not publish it.

It will only record the audio outside of the video, it will not record the sound of the video you are trying to record.

Yes. Restarting my phone always helps me to record first video with audio without any issues. Strangely it does not work for the next recording and I have to again restart my phone to make it work.

I have not upgraded to the latest IOS version yet and still working with 11.0.3. I will try to upgrade and see if that helps.

It's so weird when I started recording with my voice as well...

I went to gallery could hear everything what I said while recording my screen..

but when I sent it to my friends like via whatapp or messenger, my friends couldn't hear anything what I said.

Apple did this on purpose right? I think ur friends will hear when u send via iMessage not others apps.
