No sound on iPhone screen recording

You would think Apple could allow it to work when using certain Apps and not others. Clearly if I’m using it with GoodNotes to help a student with disabilities, i’m not pirating movies. Or at least let me submit my educational email to activate the feature.

When using the previous iOS, I was able to use the screen recording option without having to hold down the icon. Now that I’ve updated iOS 11.3 I am unable to get the audio whether I hold down the icon or not. I’ve tried restarting my phone numerous times however not changes.

When I press the icon it counts “3,2,1” and then audio cuts off but continues to record everything on the screen (no audio). When I hold down the icon I get 3 options “Camera roll, Zoom and Micro ON/ OFF” but when I choose the option for micro ON it’s recording my background (live recording but not what’s playing on the screen).

EXACT same issue started on my iPhone X after the iOS 11.3 update two weeks ago. Really frustrating:( Unable to figure out how to get the audio stay on when screen recording. As soon as the screen recording begins, audio coming from my apple music is muted.

I record a video with mic on, with my voice

Than i again record with Mic OFf and play the recorded video.

Means I record screen while playing recorded video.

So this one works fine when k send to WhatsApp Facebook or upload in YouTube

My Screen recording on iPhone X on iOS 11.3.1 not recording in App Audio microphone is turned off as soon as i start the audio stops and screen records withoud sound.

This is happening after the recent update

Hi i actually have a pretty big doubt, i had a call with a person (very important call) and didnt know about the update, i sceen recoded it but the problem is i didnt turn the mic on is there any way possible i could get that audio?

Everyone from Apple, Camtasia and anyone in between insists the screen recorder records with audio. After updating to 11.4.1 I lost the audio on my screen cast as well.

Made a video showing screen recording, with sound, before the IOS update and a video recording, without sound, after the IOS 11.4.1 update. I think at this ppint the only fix is to roll back the update which to my knowledge is not something that can be done?

Hello, just reset your Iphone but make sure that all important files are already backed up before doing this.

Go to SETTINGS > GENERAL > RESET > ERASE ALL CONTENTS AND SETTINGS

Tried all the other options, this one worked with mine.

Well I’ve noticed that I can record if in a game and get sound. But have tried to record when in a video training and it did record but has no sound. Guessing they don’t want you to record things that can be copyrigh. So it good thing I guess but bad for people that only want to view the information later and not publish it.

I followed the steps for recording with audio. However, when trying to record an 8 minute online training video, the video will record but not the audio. Any suggestions?

I just discovered that when the “mic” is turned “On“ the sound in the video turns off.

i think it’s a bug on ios 11.1.1. i hope they’ll fix it..
