No sound on iPhone screen recording

How do I solve this issue of not getting sound when I record even when I switch the mic on&off these no sound at all. When I start recording the music sound just cuts. I even restated it several times still nothing

Yes it does, when you are doing screen recording and you want it to record the mic as well, press and hold the screen recording button in the Action Center and youll get a toggle to turn the mic on and off.

Same problem, here.

When i go to iMovie to edit the video, sound disappear. Sound on camera videos remain, but sound on screen recordings are gone as soon as they are imported to a new project(even though, they are there when watching the video in the camera roll).

What is the deal? Still no fix?

I use iPhone 6s, iMovie 2.2.4

Yes the there is a toggle you can press to allow microphone audio
Heres how to turn it on

1. Go into the control centre
2. Find the screen record icon

3. Long hold on the icon
4. Press 'Microphone Audio' in the popup

The grey icon should turn red to signify that you've turned on the microphone

Strangely I have noticed that for me, both audio and video recording works only first time after I restart my iphone.

But when I try to record the same video again or a different video, I could not hear any audio.

It has nothing to do with the length of video as I tried recording several times with smaller videos but no audio got recorded.

I even tried with both options 'Microphone Audio' On and Off but it did not help.

However the voice over works all the time but if I play any video which has an audio then it does not capture any audio (embedded audio from video or voice over) for the duration while video is playing.

The trick is to again restart your phone and it will work on for the very first video you try to record.

It could be a bug.

After I updated to iOS 11.1 screen recording webinars from my iPad now also includes the audio. I can now just long press the record icon, turn mic audio on, tap the record button and switch to the browser or webinar app. Whoop!

Importing same video on the mac iMovie, and it works fine. Reinstalling iMovie and restarting phone did not work. And same video works fine in the Splice app.

Must be a glitch in the iMovie app...

Need fix soon!

Same issue. Shared a copy by email and the sound works fine. I could hear it over the phone yet my FB post is silent. Tried on my new iMac as well as the Ipad air2 no sound.

Saw third party fixes on You Tube but still looking for an Apple fix. Still reading.

I'm having the exact same issue! I updated to the lastest IOS update and thought it would fix it but it hasn't. I'e asked people around me and they said the issue got fixed for them in the latest update. That's what I'm confused on. Also, does restarting the phone help when you record external audio as well as? I tried that and the mic only picks up my voice. Any feedback would help, thank you!

My issues is that I know how to record audio and it works BUT when you post the video anywhere the audio disappears! It is there in camera roll, but if you post to facebook, it is silent. What's the deal?

You may try some alternatives to iOS 11 screen recorder, such as ApowerREC, which is totally free and has no limitations.

Yes. Restarting my phone always helps me to record first video with audio without any issues. Strangely it does not work for the next recording and I have to again restart my phone to make it work.

I have not upgraded to the latest IOS version yet and still working with 11.0.3. I will try to upgrade and see if that helps.

It's so weird when I started recording with my voice as well...

I went to gallery could hear everything what I said while recording my screen..

but when I sent it to my friends like via whatapp or messenger, my friends couldn't hear anything what I said.

Apple did this on purpose right? I think ur friends will hear when u send via iMessage not others apps.

There’s a bug on the sound of the screen recording? I have an issue... the mic work when recording but when i try to record songs or another things , when i minimize it , stops recording sound of the video/song. But when i open the app again it records, its a bug ?

Yes. But it doesn’t work. If you play the video in photos, you will hear the sound from the mic. If you try to edit in iMovie, the sound gets stripped. One work around is to export your movie to a 2nd app, render/save it, then import it back into iMovie. Then you have sound again. Apple needs to fix this. I just updated my ipad to the latest iOS tonight and it still wasn’t fixed. I’m actually using this to help kids make corrections on their math quizzes and tests. So, come on Apple help a teacher out.
