Lots of bugs in ios 11.0.3 on iPhone 6s

Hi Apple,

What have you done with ios 11. Even after 3 updates the stability is terrible.

First of all: a lot of apps aren't working right. they keep crashing or the whole ios crashes and i have to do a hard reset. Even the apps that have been updated work insanly bad.

Second: random ios bugs. like wifi crashing the music app or the volume indicator just stops working. the apps in the bottom part of the screen disappear? the list goes on and on and on.

Last: The battery. i mean my device now only has like 60% of the batterylife it had before. you guys really screwed us over with this terrible update...

please fix asap.

1) I haven't seen lots of apps crashing but if they are, that needs to be brought to the attention of the app provider, whether Apple or someone else.

2) I've never seen Wi-Fi crash anything, or the volume indicator stop working. If you have elements disappearing from the bottom of your screen you may also have a hardware issue causing problems on your device.

3) Battery - same here. If you are seeing continual battery issues, take your phone in to be diagnosed; the most common cause of excessive battery draw is a third party app that is not compatible with iOS 11 is stuck in a loop, drawing power.

Biggie is battery life on my 6s - just last night 58 min of talk time dropped battery by over 30% - it is horrible. Where Apple gets their battery life estimates must be in perfect lab conditions - real life is far from their numbers. Terrible!

Second thing is they took away the clear button for the most recent notifications - seems like the only way to get rifd of them is to ignore them until they are old enough to clear or clear each one individually which a royal pita if there is a long list. Long list also do not seem to scroll well so it seems impossible to get to the older notifications, at least on the lock screen.

More crap from apple force feeding us their ideals rather than letting us choose!

Hi William,

I’m what you would call a fanatic Apple user. I say user as I don’t have a degree in computer science.

Bought the new iPhone 8. October 15 from Apple regent street London UK. It updated itself to 11.0.3.

I am pretty certain that there is a bug in initiating a message from your call list. Pressing the message button does open a new message but without the receiver’s name at the address line.

I’m sure it’ll be fixed in the next update but it’s unfair to say there is nothing wrong with iOS 11.0.3.

Let’s hope the programmers work it out. Fingers crossed mate !

That article is indicative of almost nothing. "Lots of people" are reporting problems on reddit (my go to for reliable information!). And a graph from...where? IIt's also about iOS 11.0.1.

Not to mention that it uses this forum as a source. Thus completing the circle. Or that Forbes traditionally publishes "fake news" about Apple, whose editors despise Apple. However, Forbes also has a long history of including ads on its site that attempt to install malware on your computer. So it is really risky to go to forbes.com for anything.

1571 people have this question William. Drop in the ocean though, right?

Even if it was certain that that number represented people with the issue, yes, it would be just a drop in the ocean.

As it is, all that number tells is is that 1571 people have clicked a button. They may or may not have the issue. They may just be interested in the topic.

Just saying: I'm experiencing pretty much the same issues as the frustrated user above. I'm frustrated user myself, don;t go out of your way to make patronising snide remarks. Rather send someone on their way with knowledge as to what they can try next, than showing all your noddie badges off.

Don't go out of your way just to tell another what they should do. It is not your place to do so.

Why are you carrying water for Apple? You can go on chat with Apple and they can run a diagnostic on your phone hardware in realtime - took me about 10 minutes last night to do that with them. My hardware on my 6S was A-OK so its software according to Apple. All they recommend is backing up my phone and performing a factory reset. My phone worked fine before 11.0.3

So I know for sure the reason my battery only lasts 90 -120 minutes running apps is software. I have to charge many times a day now and it has nothing whatsoever to do with hardware as confirmed by Apple.
