Lots of bugs in ios 11.0.3 on iPhone 6s

Hi Apple,

What have you done with ios 11. Even after 3 updates the stability is terrible.

First of all: a lot of apps aren't working right. they keep crashing or the whole ios crashes and i have to do a hard reset. Even the apps that have been updated work insanly bad.

Second: random ios bugs. like wifi crashing the music app or the volume indicator just stops working. the apps in the bottom part of the screen disappear? the list goes on and on and on.

Last: The battery. i mean my device now only has like 60% of the batterylife it had before. you guys really screwed us over with this terrible update...

please fix asap.

1) I haven't seen lots of apps crashing but if they are, that needs to be brought to the attention of the app provider, whether Apple or someone else.

2) I've never seen Wi-Fi crash anything, or the volume indicator stop working. If you have elements disappearing from the bottom of your screen you may also have a hardware issue causing problems on your device.

3) Battery - same here. If you are seeing continual battery issues, take your phone in to be diagnosed; the most common cause of excessive battery draw is a third party app that is not compatible with iOS 11 is stuck in a loop, drawing power.

So you skipped iOS 3 completely? Apparently so and quite a few others. Or you just didn't have the problems that others had and posted about so you just went about your way not worrying about it. Like others are doing with iOS 11.

There is a troll here but I think you've picked the wrong one. I would suggest that if you are truly that busy that you get a flip phone and some time of tablet or perhaps an iPod Touch. For the most part flip phones with their simplicity do not fail. Or you can just let others who have similar problems report them to Apple and then wait for the update that solves the issue you have. Other people probably have more time. Of course their is the possibility that yours isn't actually caused by the iOS itself so no matter how many updates you get your problem will never be solved.

Except that, when iOS 11.0.2 was released, there were people who asked to roll back. And, when iOS 11.0.1 came out, there were people who said everything had been fine until then. People have said this about every single update Apple has ever released. There are always people saying everything was perfect until then. So, if one assumes that every single release is that much worse than the last, why does anyone still buy an iPhone? Or, perhaps the problem is a bit more complex than "Everything was fine until <insert your favorite version number>".

Your statement: "People have said this about every single update Apple has ever released. There are always people saying everything was perfect until then. "

My Solution: "Apple could just allow us to roll back to earlier releases that worked."

Seems like we finally agree on something, every Apple iOS update has people unhappy with it stating "Everything was fine until <insert your favorite version number>". Let them roll back the iOS.

Sadly, it appears that you missed the point. Perhaps I was unclear. Let me try again. People have always blamed issues on the update without investigating what the real problem is. I'm pretty sure some of the same people who want to go back to iOS 10 because it worked so well said, when iOS 10 came out that they wanted to go back to iOS 9 because iOS 10 was so awful.

The problem is usually not the update. Even if Apple were to allow it, going back to the previous version would most likely not solve the problem.

But, hey, it's your phone, if you'd rather blame the update than try to solve the problem, have at it.

Best of luck.

Sorry but I disagree it is the software update this time and I suspect this is usually the case. I can report to a general resolution to my issues with poor battery performance and bugs - I did a factory reset and re-installed my back up then re-installed my apps. I would say my phone is back to 80% pre iOs 11xx.xx It still has bugs with power use sometimes cutting off at 35% and not opening again till charged for a few minutes. I went to the genius bar they tested the phone and say the hardware is good.

Its the upgrades for new phones that degrades performance. Here is an excellent article in the Times about this situation A New Phone Comes Out. Yours Slows Down. A Conspiracy? No. - The New York Times

Ill be changing over to a Samsung in the spring so I can use a phone to record my 4 hour bike rides (my iPhone used to be able to but no more). Ive liked Apple but after this episode Ill give Android OS a shot. The Samsung product is better than the iPhone too. Better battery, better price better form factor. Best of luck convincing people this is somehow their fault not Apple's.

Apple now admits slowing older phones with updates. Please to all the people roasting those of us reporting software related problems associated with updates take note. Very frustrating to have these problems but to come to a forum and be berated and disrespected because of what we know is happening. Now at least some justification from Apple themselves. Shame on those of you schilling for the corporate store...

Let's see...

BY DESIGN, Apple has made changes to increase battery life and you're displeased? The solution is simple - replace your old tired battery.

A lot of us are still having problems post iOS 11.xxx This is directly related to the update as Apple got caught and had to admit to using iOS updates to throttle 'older' phones. People wondering why they have loss of performance after the latest major update (iOS 11.xxx) have the right to know its not just hardware or some of the other things mentioned on this thread - its Apple.

Why this is hard for some to accept I dont know or much care but people have the right to know so they dont waste valuable time trying to fix a problem intentionally designed and released by Apple.
