iOS 11 taking up 14gb of storage

I have an iPhone 7 Plus and keep getting notifications that’s my iPhone storage is full. When I looked at the storage breakdown, over half my storage is listed as “other.” It lists system as taking up almost 14 gb. It constantly changes how much space it’s taking. It fluctuates between 13-15 gb. I’ve tried deleting apps but as soon as I do, the system claims that free space.

Is anyone else having this issue? I only have a 32 gb phone so it’s pretty unusable right now.

Hi.

My iPhone SE has its System taking up only 4.58 GB of storage system. ( I used iTunes to upgrade my iPhone to iOS 11.0.3 today and the download size was about 2.43 GB. This 2.43 GB is stored in my computer. )

Therefore, 13.85 GB seems to be somewhat high. Maybe you should do some cleanup job on your iPhone 7 Plus. Please note, since I do not own a 7 Plus, I cannot know for sure.

Hope this helps.

Hi.

That's way too much of a space occupied by iOS.

My iPhone SE with iOS 11.1.1 ( the current ) takes 4.89 GB storage.

My iPad Air with iOS 11.1.1 takes 6.34 GB storage.

How do you upgrade your phone to a new iOS ? If through wi-fi, please do it through iTunes next time to see if this helps reduce storage space occupied by iOS.

By the way, do you have a problem with your battery charge draining quickly ?

Hope this helps.
