iOS 11: WHAT TO KNOW BEFORE YOU UPGRADE!!!

Before you upgrade to iOS 11.

Backup your iDevice to either (or both) iCloud or the latest iTunes on a computer.

iOS 11 is an all 64-bit OS.

That means any apps on your iPad that are still 32-bit apps that haven't been updated to the new 64-bit code will no longer work after you have upgraded to iOS 11.

You can find out which apps on your iPad are still 32-bit ones by going into

Settings, About, Applications and tap on the disclosure arrow after where is states how many applications are installed on your iDevice

The application list that follows will be a list that shows all of the remaining apps on your iPad that are still 32-bit apps and have not had any recent updates.

So, if there are any apps in that list that you use a lot and that have data stored to them that is important to you, you need to find a way to copy that data to either a computer or use an offsite, cloud data storage service, like Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, Amazon Cloud Drive, etc. OR email this data to yourself, if need be, to save this info as there will be no way to retrieve it later if no new 64 bit coded update ever surfaces from the app developers.

So, this is, NOW, the time to seek out alternative apps, in the iOS App Store, to replace those older and incompatible 32-bit applications that have NOT been updated in quite sometime.

Then, you can make the decision to upgrade to iOS 11 OR wait a while longer to upgrade and stay with iOS 10.3.3 for the time being.

Once the decision is made to upgrade to iOS 11.

Then, the BEST, SAFEST and RELIABLE way to upgrade/update an iDevice is to do the upgrade with your iPad connected to a computer running the latest iTunes version.

Either iTunes version 12.6.3 found here.

OR

if still available, iTunes 12.7.

Good Luck to ALL!

iPad Pro Wi-Fi, iOS 10.3.3, 12.9 inch screen, 128 GB
