How can I get my iOS 11.0.3 iPhone to play Netflix on my tv through the lightening to hdmi adapter

It doesn't appear that either Apple or Netflix are much concerned about this. Perhaps it doesn't effect that many people, but it has been very frustrating to me. Each seems to blame the other, but it did work before the latest Apple system upgrade.

Just adding my name to those upset with this problem. Countless hours on phone calls with both companies. Rebooting, reloading, plugging and unplugging. There seems to be no way to watch Netflix on my TV with my friends. We have to huddle around one iPad.

***- I’m cancelling Netflix until They get this fixed. Everything on Amazon and iTunes works great!

If this isn't fixed soon (or it ends up being a business decision) I'll be canceling our Netflix account. Living just beyond range of true high-speed internet, streaming isn't an option. If we can't download content and watch it mirrored on a TV at a later time, Netflix is near useless for us. So frustrating.

Thanks for posting, but to clarify this thread is for issues where we are trying to watch previously Downloaded Netflix content held on an iPhone/ipad on a TV using lightening to HDMI connector as there is NO Wi-fi. This was possible pre IOS 11.

As an aside if you try and watch downloaded Netflix content through Apple TV it defaults to streaming it live over Wi-fi, which can lead to unexpected Wi-fi usage/cost (many other threads on this issue)

Unfortunately the Netflix App is not streaming offline content after iOs 11 update via hdmi adapter. On your phone go to settings >General>Reset>Reset All Settings. After the reboot try Netflix App again.

After 55 minutes on the phone with Netflix, they finally told me it’s been an issue for several months. They tried to blame it on Apple...but it’s the Netflix engineers that have not been able to keep up with updates & glitches. Call Netflix and complain - I’m getting a credit for this month’s fee, but I’d rather be able to Airplay or mirror my iOS downloaded content for Netflix!! Everything will play from my Apple device EXCEPT for Netflix!

I have Amazon Prime and I could not get this working either.

Not just isolated to Netflix for me.

I'd love to know why.

Uninstall it and reinstall it and it will start working again That’s the only thing that worked for me resetting does not work

I'm having the same problem! I can mirror my ipad, but not my iphone.

Have restarted by phone, up-dated the app and my software, re-loaded the app, everything - so not sure what the go is!

Has anyone had any success?

I am having the same issue. I have tried with both Apple TV and a Apple lightning to HDMI and it does the same thing. The screen show up and freezes but I can hear sound. I wish I could figure out a way to do this. We go camping a lot without a good WiFi signal and would love to download shows to watch on my phone/mirror to the TV. We also tried with DirecTV app and it just gives an error message.

I feel you! I have it set up to run a slideshow for my business (Keynote) and after iOS 11 update it is so glitchy, will run for a while and then quit and get stuck in a loop and the screen(s) will go black until I close the app, reopen and then press play again.. Just annoying to mess with when you're busy and have customers who want to read your information.. Please Apple, let me know if there is a resolution to this because it is costing me business...

I'm about to hang 3 more TVs for Menu Boards and want to figure out what is best to resolve this situation and make it work fluid like it did up until the release of iOS 11.
